Welcome to Vista Lights

Brought to you by the Scott Family, our holiday display has always embraced the spirit of a winter wonderland. From a giant snow globe to reindeer, singing penguins, shimmering icicles, and dancing snowflakes, every element helps create a festive atmosphere.
At its heart, our show is driven by the music more than the lights. Each year, we search for fresh, modern Christmas songs that capture the season’s magic without feeling cliché. When we couldn’t find enough tracks that fit our style, we started producing our own Christmas remixes—creating new additions to the holiday soundtrack we’re excited to share with you.

Every year, Vista Lights fills our neighborhood with magic and holiday cheer!

FAQ
When is it open?
We’re kicking off the season with our annual Holiday Block Party on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 7 PM! This marks the first official showing of our holiday light display for the community.
From December 21 through 26, the 30-minute show will run on a continuous loop each evening from 6:30 to 9:30 PM. Tune in to our radio broadcast to enjoy the music from the warmth and comfort of your vehicle.
Where is it located?
The display is on 1773 Vista Creek Drive in Roseville, easy to find and free to enjoy.
How many lights are we talking about?
Our display features more than 20,000 computer-controlled LED pixel lights, each capable of producing any color in the spectrum. Using computer software, every light can be turned on or off—down to the millisecond—creating precisely synchronized animations that bring the entire scene to life.
Contrary to popular belief, we don’t need our own power plant to keep the show running. The lights are ultra‑efficient, powered by either 5‑ or 12‑volt supplies, while a standard home outlet delivers 120 volts. We also run the lights at only about 30% brightness. Thanks to all these factors, the entire display is remarkably energy‑efficient and inexpensive to operate. Our December power bill might go up by about $20—well worth it for the joy and smiles the show brings.
Your power bill must be outrageous!
How do you run the show from your computer?
We use an open-source lighting design software called xLights (www.xlights.org), recognized as the industry standard for creating synchronized light displays. Developed and refined by a community of more than 80 contributors, xLights provides a powerful and reliable platform for designing dynamic, music-driven lighting experiences.
Do you do a Halloween show?
We get asked a lot if we do a Halloween show — and as fun as that would be, it’s just a little too much to take on! Our Christmas show already takes around 40–50 hours to set up and another 50 hours of computer work to get everything synced. Between school, work, and sports, there just aren’t enough hours in the day. Maybe one year!
